Principal’s Message
Principal’s Message

Dear Montgomery High School Aztec Families,
I hope all of you had a great summer and you were able to spend quality time with your family and friends. My name is Sasha Scott, and I am honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Montgomery High School. I am entering my 21st year in education, with 18 of those years proudly spent in the Sweetwater Union High School District serving as a high school Biology teacher, athletics coach, high school assistant principal, middle school principal, and now as your principal on the Mesa. It is a privilege to bring my experience to Montgomery High and to join such a vibrant, dedicated, and student-centered community. I cannot wait to meet our amazing Aztec students and families as we begin this new school year together.
As proud Aztecs, we carry a legacy of strength, pride, and unity, and I look forward to continuing that tradition while supporting each student’s academic and personal growth. Whether you are joining us as a freshman or returning for your second, third, or final year, this school year is full of possibilities, and I am thrilled to serve alongside our amazing staff to make it a great one.
Our first day of school is Wednesday, July 23rd, with dismissal at 3:35 p.m. The school day starts at 8:30am, however we encourage you to arrive at least 15 minutes earlier to ensure you are on time, all the time. On the first day of school, students will receive their class schedules when they report to their first period classes. A list of all students’ first period classes will be available by scanning a QR code posted throughout the campus. When students arrive at school, they should consult one of these lists to locate their first period class. Please do not use Jupiter Grades to print locator cards or check classes as they may have changed.
Please note: On our first Friday of school, July 25th, it is an early release day, so students will be dismissed at 2:35 p.m.. Please plan transportation and pick-up accordingly. Please take a moment to review our Student Handbook before the first day of school. Our handbook provides essential information including our school calendar, bell schedules, important dates, and contact information. We highly encourage parents and guardians to review the →2025-2026 Student Handbook← with their Aztec students.
Below are some important reminders as we start the school year:
- Food/drink deliveries are not allowable on campus at any time.
- Students will not be released 15 minutes before the end of the school day.
- If your student is late and walks in with a Starbucks, 7-11 coffee or drink they will be asked to finish it, toss it, or leave it in the main office. Let’s make sure we are in the classroom on time at 8:30am.
- If your child has not cleared their immunization records with the school nurse, your child will not be provided a class schedule and cannot attend classes (For Newly Enrolled Students)
- Important reminders and information are always posted on the school website: → https://moh.sweetwaterschools.org ←
- The WAAG, our school newsletter, is sent weekly to all parents. Please review the WAAG each week to stay current on all the activities and events on the Mesa.
We look forward to seeing all of you, and we know that this year our teachers and staff will continue to provide all of our students with a quality education that will prepare them for college and their future careers. We truly believe our students, parents, and community deserve the best in education, and everyone at Montgomery High will do their best to accomplish these goals.
I look forward to a year filled with learning, connection, and Aztec pride. Let’s make this year on the Mesa our best one yet! See you on Wednesday, July 23rd!
Take care,
Ms. Scott
